I have lived in this apartment
complex for almost three years with no issues or problems. This month, a new
neighbor just moved into the apartment upstairs on top of me. I was away
overseas during summer when my neighbor to my right moved in, and the ones on
top of them moved in simultaneously.
During the three years that I have
lived here, three different people had moved in and had moved out from the
upstairs apartment, and I had never had a problem with them. This new neighbor
has no respect for others and causing me to look into ways to break my lease. I
have made five complaints to management. I have made complaints to the
corporate office via telephone and email. And finally something came through
this week.
Smoking had never bothered me until
now. It is alright for people to smoke but please don’t flick the ashes and
cigarette butts downstairs. The upstairs people don’t respect people who live
downstairs especially when their cigarettes’ ashes and butts are being dumped
right in front of my walkway to my house. I have this beautiful American Indian
rug that I bought at the Yavapai/McDowell Reservation and it’s dirty and filthy
from their creation.
My lease is up at the end of
November and I just can’t wait to move out. Maybe this is a blessing in
disguise, it is time for me to leave this apartment and find something closer
to downtown Phoenix.
Hello! I am so sorry to hear about your experience in your apartment. I live in an apartment complex now and fortunately haven't had much trouble. I do know how it can be with having loud people above you, and always wonder why it sounds like they are moving furniture at 1 am! Anyways, I hope that you can find a really great place next and will be much happier!
ReplyDeleteSimisi,
ReplyDeleteIt's to bad to hear of your disrespectful neighbor, I try to go about non confrontational ways to solve problems but sometimes I have the dilemma of be presented with no other option but saying something to my neighbors. I am glad you went about it the correct way so many times but it's to bad you haven't heard back from them trying to assist you with the problem. I hope all turns for the better for you or you can just ride it out until it is time to move. Have a good one.
SKYE MIKE
Semisi,
ReplyDeleteNeighbors who have no accord for others are awful, esp. when living in an apartment situation. The way leases are set up with all the clauses makes it nearly impossible to break, however I am happy to hear you will be moving next month. That's slightly encouraging; I think living in apartments can be very hit or miss. Good luck with the move~ I look forward to reading more.
Semisi,
ReplyDeleteI am sorry for your new neighbors. They don't sound to considerate and they sound unfair to not consider your opinions as a neighbor. Sometimes living in apartments can bring these unfortunate situations. Im guessing you have moved out and onto a new spot? I appreciate your post and also having other classes with you. Your a great person to know and be around. Take care.
